Sayed Mohammad Jawad Al-Qazwini

Sayed Mohammad Jawad Al-Qazwini is an American Muslim Imam of Iraqi origin and a rising global star. Currently based in Qom, Iran, Sayed Jawad is fluent in English, Arabic and Farsi. As the grandson of, Ayatollah Sayed Mortada Al-Qazwini, the current religious authority in the holy city of Karbala, Iraq, Sayed Jawad initiated his religious studies in California at the age of 16. After leaving California, Sayed established the Assadiq Islamic Educational Foundation, an Islamic center in Boca Raton, Florida in 2003. Since then, he has written numerous papers on Islamic sciences as well as contemporary Islamic issues including modern social Islamic thought.

A sought after speaker, Sayed has lectured at universities, colleges and mosques around the world on issues relating to Islam. He is a strong proponent of interfaith dialogue focusing on shared common values and is widely accepted as one of the most open-minded and inspirational scholars within the North American Muslim community. He is a regular commentator on global television; and is widely recognized as a powerful exegete of the Holy Quran.

A charismatic leader who has achieved recognition as an educator, scholar, and author; Sayed Jawad’s work is centered around youth engagement and empowerment. As a vocal critic against terror and violence in the name of Islam and Muslims, Sayed Jawad is a strong advocate against extremism in all faiths.

In 2006, Sayed Mohammad Jawad moved to the city of Qom in Iran to continue his religious traditional studies. He is currently a student of the esteemed jurists Ayatollah Shaykh Mohsen Wahid Khorasani and Ayatollah Sayed Ali Milani.
